Follow Me to the Cross
Follow Me to the Cross: Jesus Shows You How to Live (Contemporary)
Today in Worship, we continue our Lenten sermon series, “Follow Me to the Cross,” which invites us to explore the different ways that the cross of Christ brings redemption or Atonement (at-one-ment with God). As we journey with Jesus to his death and then his resurrection, we’ll seek to more deeply understand how the cross ultimately stands as an expression of God’s love for us. This week, we’ll talk about the Moral Example Atonement theory by looking at Luke 9:21-27 and considering the ways that the whole life of Jesus: his birth, life, teachings, death, and resurrection invite us to live our lives in imitation of his example of self-giving, sacrificial love. For deeper study during this Lenten journey, we encourage you to read the book “Savior – What the Bible Says About the Cross” by Magrey R. deVega, which the pastors will be referencing throughout this series.
