Launch into Extraordinary Love with our Discipleship Launch Sequence!

What is the "Launch Sequence"?

In 2018, a group of Suntree Pastors and Lay People met to cast vision for the future of our church. After much prayer and conversation, E3, a four step plan for expanding discipleship, community, outreach, and missions at Suntree United Methodist Church, was born. As our team prayed about developing creative ways to communicate this 4 step process, our minds turned to the history of our local community, the Space Coast. We arrived at language we felt would be familiar to many of our members with ties to the Space Program: a 4 stage launch sequence.

The goal of this plan is for it to be useful for all members at all stages in their discipleship, to help people grow in their love for God, their community, and the world, and for the Launch into Extraordinary Love to become a part of the way we talk about discipleship at Suntree United Methodist Church.

MomCo (formerly MOPS) | 9am-11am | Room 103/104 | Jenny Murdock and Sarah Mayes. MomCo was founded in 1973 when seven women invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus. We encourage and equip moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. If you’re ready to connect with other young mothers, MomCo is the place to be!

Bible Study: Jonah and Hebrews | 9am-11am | Room 101/102 | Cathrine Larrea. Join us for a traditional Bible study led by experienced bible teacher Cathrine Larrea. For the first five weeks, we will take a deeper look into the little book of Jonah. It’s not just about a big fish, but rather a story of God’s grace, mercy, and love. Hebrews part two will be offered in January. Bring your bible. No other materials are needed.

Seasons of a Woman’s Life | 9am-11am | Room 109 | Patty Rexrode. Women are all unique, with different goals, different roles, different dreams, and different stories to tell. Taught by Patty Rexrode, this class will help you record your own life goals (fulfilled and unfulfilled), your feelings, and especially your memories with an interactive journaling project for your personal history. The meeting questions will be suggestions for your evaluation of your seasons as a woman. Limited to 10-12 women, age 50+.

Join us for a deep dive into the Gospel of Luke, where we discover that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Please purchase a copy of Luke: Gut-Level Compassion in preparation for this class. You can purchase it through Amazon here, or order it through your local bookstore.

Book Study: When the Saints Go Flying In | 9am-11am | Room 108 | Toni Zahn. Stories have the ability to transport us to different times and places. They have the power to inspire, challenge, distract, and transform lives. We tell stories to entertain, change minds, and share experiences. Methodist-turned-Episcopalian priest, Joseph Yoo, uses the power of stories – both ancient and contemporary - to remind us how we are often unexpectedly intertwined with one another and with God. Please purchase a copy of When the Saints Go Flying In by Joseph Yoo for this class. You can purchase it through Amazon here, or order it through your local bookstore.
