Follow Me to the Cross
Follow Me to the Cross - Jesus Makes You Clean (Traditional)
Today in Worship, we continue our Lenten sermon series, "Follow Me to the Cross," which invites us to explore the different ways that the cross of Christ brings redemption or Atonement (at-one-ment with God). As we journey with Jesus to his death and then his resurrection, we'll seek to more deeply understand the ways that the cross stands as an expression of God's love for us. This week, we'll talk about Cleansing Atonement theory by looking at Psalm 51 and Leviticus 16. Throughout Scripture, our sin is often described as dirt or stain in our lives. Jesus has come as the perfect offering to cleanse us and take our sin upon himself. As we journey to Holy Week, we continue to confess our sins and ask God to make us clean and whole. For deeper study during this Lenten journey, we encourage you to read the book, “Savior – What the Bible Says About the Cross” by Magrey R. deVega, which the pastors will be referencing throughout this series.
