Today in Worship, we continue our Advent sermon series, “Declutter Christmas.” Advent is the season of the Christian calendar that turns our hearts towards the anticipated arrival of Christmas. During Advent, God calls us to prepare our hearts for the infant Savior, Jesus Christ, by removing anything that stands in the way of his making a home within us. This week, we will think about Decluttering with Peace as we read Luke 3:1-14. As John the Baptist comes to call us to repentance, we are offered the opportunity for true peace by getting rid of the junk and clutter in our souls that prevents us from experiencing God’s love and grace.
