Today in Worship, we begin a new sermon series - Resurrection Reset. After we encounter the new life offered in the empty tomb, we, like the disciples, often ask ourselves, “What now?” The resurrection of Christ offers us the opportunity to ask ourselves if we are truly living into who Christ has called us to be. As a church and as individuals, we can continue to re-evaluate and take this moment of resurrection as the opportunity to “reset” ourselves and our habits.
Join us for our Lenten sermon series, “Follow Me to the Cross,” which invites us to explore the different ways that the cross of Christ brings redemption or Atonement (at-one-ment with God). As we journey with Jesus to his death and then his resurrection, we’ll seek to more deeply understand the ways that the cross ultimately stands as an expression of God’s love for us.
Today in Worship we launch our new message series, “Follow Me”. Over the coming months, we will be exploring what it means for us to faithfully and obediently follow Jesus as he is revealed to us through the gospel of Luke.
Advent is the season of the Christian calendar that turns our hearts towards the anticipated arrival of Christmas. During Advent, God calls us to prepare our hearts for the infant Savior, Jesus Christ, by removing anything that stands in the way of his making a home within us.
We all experience all kinds of storms in life. Sometimes the storms come from outside of us. Sometimes the storms rage within. But in the midst of all of these storms, we worship a God who is always with us and we cling to a Savior who tells us, “My peace I give to you.” Over the next 4 weeks we will be digging into the promises of God that serve as our anchor in the storms and empower us to face our fears, anxieties and worries with faith.
Our 2021 Lent Series will take us a journey, following the UMC Lectionary, showing the path the gospels lay out from the ashes and brokeness to the promise of life eternal given through the grace of Christ.
