Serving our Neighbors

Harbor City Elementary School Supply Drive!

Back to school shopping is just around the corner! As you may know, we support Harbor City Elementary School, a title 1 school where 73% of students live at or below the federal poverty level.

Every year, we provide school supplies to every child to optimize their opportunity to learn effectively. This year, we are once again providing a $35 gift card to every student to select their necessary school supplies. Harbor City Elementary’s principal has requested this because covid-19 safety measures are still unclear for next year. You may make your donation online by designating “Harbor City Elementary” or drop a donation in the backpack displayed at our worship space door entrances. Thank you for your generous support of children in need. We are indeed acting as the hands and feet of Christ when we minister to impoverished children.

Our Mission Partner of the Month is The Children's Hunger project!

This non-profit  provides weekend meals to promote childhood nutrition throughout the school year.

Family Promise of Brevard

Addresses homelessness in our community with the goal of making family homelessness brief, rare and non-recurring.   SUMC welcomes families quarterly for a week, with food, lodging, conversation and fellowship.

The “Family Promise” is to empower homeless families to create a path towards stable, long term housing and provide peace and security along the journey.  To support this mission, please designate “Family Promise” on the giving platform or drop a donation in the mission boxes in worship for February.

Gifts from the Heart

This is the Christmas outreach of several nonprofit care organizations in Brevard County. Families affected by poverty can select brand new, quality gifts for their children at greatly reduced prices. This process restores some dignity and gives parents agency to thoughtfully provide a Christmas experience for their children. You can bring your unwrapped, brand new children's gifts to Suntree on November 22 and November 29. Visit their website for Amazon, Walmart and Target online shopping options. (If you shop online for GFTH, please let us know!)
