Serving our Neighbors

Thanksgiving is coming!

Community Meal

We don't want anyone to be home alone on Thanksgiving. We are serving a classic Thanksgiving Meal here at Suntree on Thursday, November 25th from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM.

This $15 dinner will include turkey, fixings, and dessert! Reservations open October 27 and close November 10. Stop by the church office to purchase your tickets for Thanksgiving or purchase tickets in between services on the following  Sundays: October 31 or Sunday, November 7 and 14. We do need people willing to serve on this day. Use the link below to sign up to serve!

Our Mission Partner of the Month is

Gifts from the heart (brevard)

This is a local organization for 10 non-profit organizations in Brevard County to provide participating parents with a dignified shopping opportunity, where they may choose gifts that they believe best suit their children.

We have giving trees outside our worship spaces, where you may select a tag with a suggested gift. You can also order through Amazon, Target or Walmart—just check our website and scroll to Gifts from the Heart. We have boxes just outside the worship doors for you to drop off your gifts, as well as in the church office.  You may make a financial donation and designate it “Mission Partner” or simply drop a check in the mission box outside the worship spaces.

Ways to get involved in the Community

Blue Sky Community Garden

Blue Sky Community Garden grows food to be shared with the community.  Produce is given to local soup kitchens. For the fall growing season, we need volunteers on Saturdays from 8:30 AM- 12:00 PM.

Brevard Family Partnership (foster care)

We are inviting foster families to come to our playground for a "Swap, Sip and Slide!" every other month. They can (privately) prearrange items to swap with each other and use our campus as a meet up spot, enjoy some coffee (and juice), and enjoy time together while they supervise their children on the playground. We need people to help with serving juice/coffee and greeting the families on the following dates: 1/8/22, 3/12/22, 6/11/22

We really need your help to keep our closet full of diapers of all sizes, wipes, and duffel bags. Some popular sizes of diapers requested are “Goodnites” (Small, Medium, and Large) and “Pull-ups” in all of the toddler sizes. Newborn, sizes 1, 2, 3, and 4 are also needed.

Our next Diapers, Duffels and Donuts event is November 6. Sign up here to serve!

We offer (new or like new) duffel bags to foster parents so that when their foster child(ren) is being reunited with their family, the child has a bag to pack all of their belongings to take home.

Donations are accepted in the front office.

Family Promise of Brevard

Addresses homelessness in our community with the goal of making family homelessness brief, rare and non-recurring.   SUMC welcomes families quarterly for a week, with food, lodging, conversation and fellowship.

The “Family Promise” is to empower homeless families to create a path towards stable, long term housing and provide peace and security along the journey.

In lieu of staying at our church during covid, Family Promise is providing families short-term housing in a hotel on 192. This October, we provided meals to the families. Our members have served with a grocery store gift card, preparing a meal, or driving the meals to the families. Website:

Gifts from the Heart

This is the Christmas outreach of several nonprofit care organizations in Brevard County. Families affected by poverty can select brand new, quality gifts for their children at greatly reduced prices. This process restores some dignity and gives parents agency to thoughtfully provide a Christmas experience for their children. You can bring your unwrapped, brand new children's gifts to Suntree on November 21 and November 28. Here are registries for gifts that can be sent straight to their facility: Amazon, Walmart and Target . (If you shop online for GFTH, please let us know!)
