Jul 25, 2021 | Allee Willcox

Malachi: Prophet of the Refining Fire (Contemporary)

Today in worship we conclude our sermon series on the Minor Prophets. Throughout this series, we will examine different prophets in their contexts and hear about what they have to say to us today. Today we will look at the Prophet Malachi in Malachi 3:1-7. In this passage, Malachi prophesies a Savior coming to a people who doubt that God still loves them and who are spiritually burnt out. The Savior's coming will burn away the people's excuses and their sin, and help them live as people who care about what God cares about: widows, orphans, and the poor. We will hear from Malachi that in order for us to be able to move through our spiritual burnout and experience the love of God, we must be willing to give, to serve others, and to offer themselves back up.
