Rev. John Hill, Co-Senior Pastor
The Rev. John Hill was born in Nashville, Tennessee and as a child his family moved several times living in Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota and North Dakota. John graduated from Bismarck High School in 1974. John then went to Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1978. At graduation, John was awarded the Bank’s Medal of Religion for that year.
John married Terri Estep in 1978 and they then went to Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. They graduated in 1981 with a Masters of Divinity.
John’s first appointment was Christ/Windsor in Gainesville, Florida. Two years later he was appointed to Union Park UMC in Orlando, Florida. In 1986, John was appointed to Sebastian UMC where he stayed for ten years. During that time, John was named Sebastian’s Man of the Year (1995).
John was appointed to Isle of Faith UMC in Jacksonville, Florida in 1996. And in June of 2003 was appointed here to Suntree UMC.
John has three children, Amy, Stephanie, and Baxter and three grandchildren, Payton, Riley & Megan.
John loves to read, play golf and cook.
