Journey

Come Journey with us Wednesday evenings as we gather for food, fellowship and furthering our walk with classes to feed your soul. Journey consists of two 10-week "semesters" which include some new classes as well as Disciple. Registration forms are available in the church office, online in the course catalog, or you can call in to register. Please note - Journey classes will resume again in September, 2008. the following is a sample of the type of classes offered.


The Over Fifty Fellowship 5:30 to 6:30pm, Room 103-104 Led by Pastor Clarence Van Ens	The Early Bird JOURNEY group will continue to be about the business of transforming seekers into dwellers of the Spirit. Ed Sellers and Pastor Clarence Van Ens will be guiding the group in the after dinner celebrations, recollections, and reflections of events that are personal, ecclesiastical and national—not forgetting the internationals. A significant tape will be run binding us to the fulsome reading of the word of God unto godly life and witness.
Invitation to the Old Testament 6:45 - 8:00pm Led by Pastor Terri Hill	This is a 9-week, short Disciple class where selected accounts from the Torah, books of the prophets, and the wisdom literature will be reviewed. Note: Cost is $15 (limited enrollment)
The History & Theology of the United Methodist Church 6:45 - 8:00pm Led by Pastor John Hill	In this class we will look back at where United Methodism came from and what it is we believe. We will look at sermons by John Wesley and hymns by Charles Wesley.
Hearing God by Dallas Willard 6:45 - 8:00pm Facilitator: Mike Renfro	In this class we will take a look at the book of the same title by Dallas Willard to explore together what we can do right now to establish a conversational relationship with God. Note: Please pre-purchase the book.
Contagious Christianity 6:45 - 8:00pm Led by Joni & Bob Van Kley	Do you have a testimony to share? It’s probably the most effective way of sharing your faith. Join others in this class to learn inspiring, fresh and creative ways of reaching out to others. Based on the book “Becoming a Contagious Christian” written by Bill Hybels and Mark Mittelberg, this class includes a video and time to practice reaching out naturally.
Invitation to John 6:45 - 8:00pm Facilitator will be assigned	This is a 9-week, short Disciple class (the first week is orientation). The concentration of study will be on the Gospel according to the Apostle John. Note: Cost is $15 (limited enrollment)
