The mission of Suntree UMC Children's Ministry is to support and supplement the family in building a spiritual foundation, which, through God's Grace, will lead a child toward a lifetime relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Son City
Our Sunday morning ministry for all children up through 5th Grade is offered at both the 9:15 and 11:00 services. In an attempt to build "kid-munity," (a place where children know they are loved and known) we have based Son City on the large group/small group model. Children meet in a large group for dynamic storytelling and music, then in small groups for discipleship and reinforcement of the lesson. Children birth through Kindergarten meet downstairs in the Preschool wing and start in their small groups or classes and then meet by age groups with our storyteller. Children in Elementary school (grades 1-5) meet upstairs and start in a large group for fun activities, contemporary music and dynamic storytelling, then break into small groups for discipleship and shepherding. Nursery/Childcare
Available for children at all worship services, on-site Bible Studies, and most church-wide events. Reservations are requested for events other than Sunday Worship.
M.A.D. Week (Music, Arts & Drama)
MAD Camp this year will be July 16-20, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. During camp your child will work with our staff and volunteers to put together a musical production titled POWER, a "stomp" musical. This fun-filled week offers an opportunity to learn an entire musical, build sets, learn speaking parts and perform. For rising 2nd-5th graders. Space is limited so please stop by the church office to pick up registration forms. Check back for next year's M.A.D. week dates.
SCOUTING
Our church sponsors a Cub Scout Pack and a Boy Scout Troop. The Cubs are boys in 1st - 5th grades. Most of their activities are family based and include a major community food drive each November. The Cubs meet in the den leader's home once a week and once a month at the church for a Pack meeting. The Scouts are for boys in 6th - 12th grades. They focus on outdoor activities (camping), services projects and participate in the community food drive as well. They meet weekly on Tuesdays at the church. This year we will also host the new district Roundtable on Thursdays and once a month the Order of the Arrow.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) - Summer
A thrilling week of joyful music, learning and crafts, all designed to teach children about Christ's love. During this very special week the children will be training to become Special Agents of the SonForce Kids. Vacation Bible School is five days of action-packed adventures.
This year's VBS is scheduled for the week of June 11 - 15, 2007.
PRESCHOOL
Meeting daily during the school year, our preschool stresses the positive approach to learning, including centers, creative play and many hands-on experiences. Offering 2,3 and 5 day classes from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Our staff consists of dedicated, qualified Christian educators who are called to serve and are prepared to give their best to you and your child. We also have an extended session daily called LUNCH BUNCH from 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. Children provide their own lunch. For more information, please call the school office, 254-3866.
